Vernacular video begins, includes, and ends with local ethnic churches. They are the core of what VVMI and the ethnic national teams are all about. The local churches provide the scripts, the actors, music, and other elements needed for the film. The ethnic national film teams are then invited to come in and help film the production. Once the film is produced, the local churches help send out an ethnic national projectionist to show the film to surrounding areas. The church then helps follow up with these newly reached people and disciple them.

VVMI exists to support the ethnic national video ministry. To this end, we have built a system of packages and projects to help organize the video efforts. Packages usually consist of three separate projects which are all related to a single production. The projects usually include equipment used for production, equipment used for projection, and special projects for livelihood or housing or other purposes.

VVMI seeks churches who will sponsor a ministry project (usually one project out of a series of three projects in a package) and send a representive to see the completed production used in the field for God's glory.

Packages and trips for 2007/2008 are currently being planned.
